Today I’m sharing Brian’s amazing story.
He spent years in cybersecurity after a career in law enforcement, and had a growing sense that he was done playing the corporate game.
Four months after joining Acquisition Ace, he closed on a behavioral therapy clinic focused on children with autism.
He’s already left his job, his wife runs the clinical side, and they’re netting $12K a month after paying themselves salaries.

Before getting into Brian’s story, here’s a success story from the Acquisition Ace community.
Michael bought a $2.6M podiatry billing service while keeping his demanding chief sales officer job after joining Acquisition Ace.
“The classroom things are super in-depth and helpful, the calls are super helpful… when you get individual deals I found it just helpful to have someone to talk to… the one-on-one coaching calls were immensely helpful.”

He structured a creative seller note, kept his W2, and is now making $400K+ annually from the business.

Before the deal
Brian had been feeling the corporate burnout building for a while, and when he came across Acquisition Ace, something clicked.
He devoured the material, built his buy box, and within two weeks was already submitting LOIs.
That pace is what made the four-month close possible.

Finding the deal
The listing appeared on BizBuySell right as Brian started searching.
A husband-and-wife team running an applied behavior analysis clinic serving kids with autism - exactly the field Brian’s wife had spent over 15 years working in.
Brian understood the industry through her, and recognized the staff retention numbers as strong for this type of clinic.
He saw the recurring, referral-driven revenue model for what it was, and came in at asking price rather than negotiating, because he believed in the deal and didn’t want to risk losing it to someone else.
(Inside Acquisition Ace, members get access to LOI templates that hold up under attorney scrutiny. Brian’s attorney reviewed his and called it “nice and buyer-friendly.” If you’d like support in making your first business deal, book a call with our team here and let’s chat.)

The deal breakdown

Purchase price: $965K
SDE pre-debt service: ~$250K
SDE post-debt service: ~$150K
Multiple: ~3x SDE
Financing: 70% SBA loan, 20% seller note, 10% buyer down payment
Current monthly net (after salaries): ~$12K
Target monthly net (once staffed up): ~$20K+

What they’re doing now
Brian left his cybersecurity job last December - the same month he closed.
His wife is currently working clinical hours to get a deep understanding of how the business operates before stepping back into an oversight role.
Brian handles bookkeeping, hiring, and technology improvements, phasing out paper-based systems and replacing them with digital solutions.
They’re also actively hiring to expand capacity. Revenue dipped slightly from the prior owners’ peak due to staff departures before closing, but Brian expects to be back above that baseline by year end.

The key lesson
“There are things that pop into your head as a business owner, but it’s still better than my day in the corporate world. I don’t regret it at all.”
Brian closed in four months by moving fast, building rapport with the seller, and not overthinking the offer.
When attorneys on both sides started complicating things, he and the seller would just call each other directly, clear the air, and keep moving.
